A truly amazing parma in a great suburban pub. The parma was huge and the quality was top notch! This is one meal i will remember for a very long time to come.

The napier have this incredible kangaroo parma. It's a parma, but instead of ham, they put smoked kangaroo under the cheese. The thing is HUGE and a the sauce is good. I've been there dozens of times for this epic aussie dish. The only complaint is the chips are thin fries, but hey, that's just my preference. Seriously worth a go, especially if you're hungry. Great job!!!

I want to give this parma a higher rating, it had all the potential to be fantastic, but on the night there was just a few little let downs. Firstly, our meals took a loooong time to come out. This would not have been as bad if it wasn't that they served half the table and then the other half an hour later. The people who were served first didn't even order first, so that was frustrating and hence the -1. I was then disappointed to see when my parma came out that it was quite overcooked, this is what stopped the parma itself from getting some perfect marks, because it tasted FANTASTIC. As others have mentioned, you can get it with Roo meat instead of ham, THIS IS A MUST! IT WAS AWESOME! Fries were great but I prefer steak cut chips. I would happily go there again but not if I'm in any sort of hurry.

I was starving when we reached the Napier Hotel, due our intended pub not having an affordable vegetarian alternative for my dining companion of the evening. Overall, this is quite a good parma. While not the biggest parma, the selling point is the ability to option up Kangaroo meat as the topping, and a wonderful helping of fries and salad. The meat was a good size. Quite large, slightly smaller than a "4", but larger than a "3.5". Thickness was quite good as well, without being overboard. Unfortunately, the skin was burnt on the bottom. I didn't mind it all that much, but it still deserved one or two points off, as it wasn't perfect. The parts of the skin that was not too burnt was okay, above average. As mentioned above, the topping was pretty good, it was a cheesy topping with minimal nap sauce. The lack of nap sauce wasn't too bad though, as it would have drowned out the taste of the roo meat. The roo meat was quite good, it's enjoyable having more than one meat on your parma! Cheese tasted pretty good too, above average quality for sure! Fries were served mostly underneath the parma, but I didn't mind this time because the plate was filled with food. I moved the parma over the best I could. The fries were above average too. Some were a little soggy (even though they weren't buried underneath the parma), and some were burnt on the ends. I really shouldn't pick on it though, it's a good solid serving of fries. The only way it could have improved on this criteria was if chips were served, cooked perfectly, and if something like chicken salt was (sparingly) used. Not too bad on the chip component I say! Salad was awarded top marks. That's quite a few pubs which have exceeded my expectations of salad now. The dressing was good, had a hint of natural mustard seeds on it, without it feeling too greasy. Huge serving of salad, it's good that they care about you having a balanced diet. I don't think putting the salad in a bowl would have helped, as the character of the dish would be just different! Top marks here. Overall, good feed, and a nice, balanced meal, with the focus being on the slab of meat. They cook the roo perfectly here, while slightly tough, it's still juicy. The pub interior itself was a little bit hippie, which might throw some off, but I didn't mind. If I lived in Fitzroy, this would probably be my usual parma.

Parma was good with a choice of ham or smoked roo, but the dish violated rule #5 by serving fries instead of chips.
