I was excited about the Elbow when I found out about, then visited their super slick website. It included a menu and price listing, an online lunch order form (an eParmy!), and a variety (rare) of parmy toppings. My excitement was doused somewhat when our lunch order did not materialise at their end, but not to worry, the chef was onto it in a flash! The parmy was reasonably sized though could have been larger at this price. The meat was tender in the middle but thin and dry around some of the edges. I chose the Bushmans topping consisting of a nicely textured mix of bacon, mushrooms and onion, topped with cheese, yum! (bonus point for having more than the standard topping!) I always would prefer to see the topping (cheese at least), spill over the sides of the meat. The crumbing was a little burnt but that may have had something to do with the expedited cooking process. The "chips" were the french fry type, which I prefer, though they're not in the tradition of a typical parmy meal. The ones which were not sweating under the meat (arrggh!), were crunchy and golden but there was not enough of them. The salad was small and quite pitiful, looking like it had been tacked onto the side of the plate to add a little colour. The standard ingredients were there but the light, creamy dressing was tasty. The venue is one of the best and the staff freindly and attentive.

I was very much looking forward to trying the Bended's Parmys as had heard rave reviews and there was also a variety of toppings to choose from - which not many other places offer. I dont know if I had too high expectations but I was actually a little disappointed - although it was still really good. I chose the Mexican parmy which consisted of sour cream, quacamole, corn chips & a beef sauce. There was plenty of sauce that covered the majority of the parmy, plenty of chips - although they were of the shoestring variety. The salad was nice with a subtle dressing, although there wasnt a lot on the plate it still had a variety of ingredients. I would like to see them include the parmy on their special boards, as dont really feel that it was worth $20. Service was friendly+ the meal came out quickly+ the venue was great= enjoyable experience.

Checked out their website before heading there for lunch, and the website looked great, 4 different parmi's to choose from & there was even an online order form-which we took advantage of, expecting to have a nice hot parmi waiting for us. However, on arrival, they didn't have our order, which set us off on the wrong foot. The chef was quite nice, and did get our meals out fairly quickly, but the parmi was a bit of a disappointment. I opted for the hawaiian, and rather than getting some nice small juicy chunks scattered over the parmi, I got 2 great big pineapple rings, which were really hard to cut through. The crumb was a bit soggy, the meat was tough & stringy around the edges, and the napoli sauce had way too much oregano. Then, to top it all off, the FRIES (not chips) were buried under the parmi, so they were soggy too. On the upside, they have a fantastic range of beer on tap, and the salad was good, but we all know you don't make friends with salad.
