I have to say this is one review I had been looking forward too for a very, very long time! and it didn't disappoint. I'll start with the location... In a very un-assuming location next to a tavern sits Big Fellas pizza with just a few long tables sitting on a deck out the front. It's not a flashy store by any means, but what they lack in store fittings they make up for in food quality and quantity. This parmi adventure was shared with my brother and a good friend, all three were hungry, and all were after only one thing... the chicken parmi! It was a relatively short wait for the parmi's, as we had come in quite soon after the opening time (of 5pm). The anticipation of the tales of epicly sized meals was well rewarded. The plate (more like serving platter sized dish) was positioned in front of us and I'll admit it, there were some tears of joy from the table of three hungry men. But soon after our initial joy, a question crept into my head "can you finish this monster sized Parmi?" So into I got, before I doubted myself any more. The chicken Schnitzel was good quality and moist, which was a pleasant surprise, as you can sometimes have quite a dry parmi when people decide to up the size. Cheese and sauce coverage was good and ham was in plentiful supply (the ham was shredded which is not my preferred style, but was great none the less). Chips were great and strategically placed on two sides of the plate, not under the parmi. And there was just enough salad for my liking. In the end only one of the three team members was triumphant in finishing the parmi there and then. Thankfully Big Fellas have doggy bags. The parmi lived up to the hype, and I would suggest that anyone who has an interest in parmi make the pilgrimage, as it is well worth it!

Went to this venue based on it's 100% rating on this site. Parmi was good... but definitely not the best in Australia. I've travelled Australia eating Parmis for the last 10 years.. I'd rate this in the top 10% but far from the best. Size was good, huge amount of chips, salad not included but can be purchased as an extra. Schitzel was good, topping also good but a little different to your conventional parmi. Seemed to be using bolognaise sauce or similar.. little different to the normal.. Also, there was beef mince in the topping/sauce. All in all.. good parmi.. good value.. I would happily go back.. but unfortunately far from the best in country... Also a little concerned about the bias of this site.. considering the Tavern and Mexican restaurant either side of Big Fellas also have 100% parmi ratings on this site (And lots of them).. seems a bit suss..

It is ridiculous how good these parmas are! I could have read every review on this page and still nothing could have mentally prepared me for what was presented. Was so big it had to be served on a platter, yet still perfectly cooked and tender. Chips top notch, perfectly seasoned with a teasingly satisfying crunch. Will be coming here for my parma fix as long as I'm within a 200km radius.

Best parma I have ever had! Came out in a massive platter and had to take some home. Will come back here again as the value for money is top notch! Think pulls apart with just a fork. Think tender juicy chicken. Think of the best parmy topping. Then think of Big Fellas Pizza and give them a go!

Definitely lived up to the reputation, beat parma I have ever. Platter for a plate, the most tender moist chicken, decent helping of chips and greek salad witj fetta - incredible. 6 of us came and received free garlic pizzas on the house. Great service too, had a good chat with some of the staff. Would highly recommend to anyone, but be prepared for a take away container with you!

This review is for Big Fella's Pizza located at Merrimac on the Gold Coast. This Parma was absolutely amazing it was extremely tender and so fresh. Best value for money and you will go home with leftovers. 11 out of 10!!!!!
