What better way to start 2015 than with a fine bird?! My trusted sidekick and I decided to try Jimbo & Rex, which is part of the Crown Casino and Entertainment Complex in Melbourne. We kicked things off with a Matilda Bay tasting paddle - bloody brilliant it was too. As for the parma, I was surprised to look down at a huge plate and see just chips and a bird. No salad, no veggies. Huge plate. To add to my confusion - only 10 (ten) chips! Sure, they were thick chips and they were pretty good. But 10?! Really?! And no salad?! If you're going to put all your chips in at the casino, you want a decent amount of chips in return. As for the bird, it was good, but not great and nowhere near filling enough. Toppings were the highlight for mine, given my chicken was considerably smaller than my sidekicks'. Ah well, on to the next one...
