Bonus point for being so massive that everybody at the table was food drunk by the end of it. Fantastic value. I loved this thing. I have only deducted one point from the parma itself and that's from the topping for a lack of ham. It wasn't exactly a noticable absence, because the chunky sauce and quality cheese brought loads of flavour, but I do feel a quality ham in there would be beneficial to the taste of the final product. I was incredibly impressed by the chefs ability to cook such a huge piece of chicken perfectly. It would have taken me at least 30 minutes to finish my plate and the last bites were as juicy and succulent as the first, a sign of a perfectly cooked bird. The chunky napoli was just perfect, there's really nothing that could be done to improve it. The cheese was excellent, not just there for the texture as is often the case but actually adding bags of flavour. The chips were fantastic, crunchy, beer battered, and the perfect style of chip to accompany a quality parma. There could have been half a dozen more though to improve the chip/parma ratio. Salad was well dressed and contained plenty of onion and cucumber, not just lettuce for once. A great side. With the addition of a quality smoked ham, this would be a very strong contender for the best parma in Melbourne. As it is it's still a contender, but in my mind it feels incomplete.

I have been here before a few times and it appears that they have gotten worse every time..... Tonights meals were 2 parmas and a steak. 2 parmas arrive nicely presented. Notably missing ham. One was bigger than the other also. Chicken was good. Topping was also good. However it was served on top of the chips and there weren't many of them - see photo. for $19.50 you'd want more chips than that. All i can say is i'm glad we ordered nibbles at the start. Salad was ok however the 2nd parma on the table found a stick in his....now i know what you're thinking "it's probably from something in the salad" however it wasn't. It was just a plain old twig. not from rosemary or grapes or anything like that....just a stick. weird. On a side note the steak that came out was ordered medium and came out slightly under what you would expect if you ordered it rare. It's really not that difficult to cook a steak..... The Mountain Goat beer that can also be seen in the photo also went down a treat. top beer. Probably won't be heading back to this pub unfortunately - the last to visits have been terrible.

Quantity was good, but the chips were a bit of a let down, breaking rules #3 and #6. They were quite overcooked and not as nice as they could/should have been.

I went back to ttry this again and see if the first one i had here was a fluke or a consistantly good parma. I was pretty happy with last nights parma. Huge bit of chicken. Cooked well. Could have used just a touch more topping to make it perfect. There was a mountain of chips....possibly too many. however the salad confuses me... 2 types of lettuce with a very small amount of dressing. It actually tastes pretty good although it just seems a little light or strange or something - can't put my finger on it. We also had some service issues - Another party ordered the fish and chips - the fish tasted like frozen fish fingers and they were so tiny i needed a microscope to see them! the other meal came out with different sides than what was on the menu. after clarifying the right ones came out - all i can say is that everyone was pretty jealous of the massive parma that i had in front of me. i had to bat them off with fork at one stage. All in all - it was a good meal. It is definately the best parma offering in my area.

Only 2 reviews reveals why this place is sitting near the top. It should not be sitting this high. This parma is just a run of the mill parma. I specifically went to this location because of its high rating, but am here to tell you it is just average.

After my dissappointment that the dining room was booked out (my own fault for not booking) we managed to nab a table in the bar area (slightly different menu - more pub style food than the dining room) much to mmy delight there before my eyes standing out from all others on the board was the "Metroplitan fat arse chook parma with fat fries." Who could resist that? a pint of little creatures later the single and i mean single best parma i have ever eaten arrived in front of me! It's one of my locals and i honestly can't believe i've never had the parma there! First i'll admit that the parma did arrive on top of the chips however the salad arrived in a little bowl so once i shunted that off to the side there was plenty of room to reshuffle the plate. Now at first glance the parma looked great, fat piece of chicken, lots of topping, fat chips - unfortunately no ham but i got over it..... On first taste the chicken was amazing! Soft fresh juicy chicken, the topping was also very well done! Chips tasted great and the salad was also quite reasonable. Honestly - i think i have found the holy grail (well it's going to be my holy grail for now) however i will continue the hunt to find better although it will be a tall ask....
