Another visit to Mrs Parma's. I opted for the "parmageddon" which isn't for the faint-hearted! Delicious spicy topping, good quality chicken, cheese browned to perfection. Bonus point for serving the chips and salad in separate bowls so as to avoid soggy chip syndrome, Definitely check this place out if you're in Melbourne but be warned - you may have to book.

I was looking forward to this parma and it was awesome, just the right amount of topping and sauce with crunchy breachcrumbs all way around :) the chips and salad on separate share plate was a good idea!! My overall rating is 10/10

Shared sides - one bowl of chips and salad between three people, not good.

after a 3yr reviewing hiatus, BIG D IS BACK!!! intention of these evening was to goto the carron tavern on spencer street to support a mates 'sponsor' although the bums were closed at 5pm on a saturday evening?! wtf? many angry punters wanting to smash a froffie but no dice! craving a parma and nothing else it was off to the obvious contender, mrs parmas. I'm always up for trying something different so I opted for the chalk board special of a "kasoundi" parma which was an indian inspired parma. the usual scenario here that everyone whinges about and mrs parmas never act upon and that is the lack of chips! the parma itself was nice, I quite enjoyed the indian spices, the chicken was a little flat / coles-esque, not quite resembling a legit in-house flattened out breast. NOW for the bullshit part of this visit - when you order drinks / food here you can set up a tab in which they ask for your credit card. upon leaving you would think along with your bill you'd be handed your credit card also? I wasn't, and forgot all about the lil plastic bastard until the following day... upon calling mrs parmas they claim they cannot send it back out to me?! wtf? just stick it in the post ya cunce! not hard... so basically you jerks can tongue me spuds - bad customer service! sure I forgot to ask for my card, but it should have been handed back to me with my bill anyway...

Great range of parmas available. I had the Floater - mashed potato, mashed peas and gravy. While very tasty, the chicken itself was way too thin and a bit of a letdown. The chips (and chicken salt) are great, but you have to share with the rest of your table and there's simply not enough to go around. I would have awarded a bonus point for the fantastic range of beers, but the lack of chips left a bad taste in my mouth (metaphorically, not literally).

Although a little thin, the parmas here are great with a number of toppings to cater to all tastes. The shared chips and salad is a bit rough, so I'd be more likely to attend solo or hatch a plan to order separately and then join mates, which I'm sure the wait staff would love. Bonus points for good old fashioned chicken salt on the chips and absolutely outstanding range of local beers.

Chips tasted amazing, in separate bowl to preserve freshness, although one bowl between 4 was totally tight! Moroccan Parma topping was disappointing as the meat balls were a bit dry and flavourless.

Had the Mexcian parma. For a start HUGE plus for having the parma on its own plate with chips and salad in 2 seprate bowls. Take note all other pubs. Parma was a nice size with great topping, not hot nuf for our liking but we like hot food. Chips and salad where nice but could have been bigger. All vic microbrew beers too

This place just rocks. I have been many times and will continue to go. They have studied the art of Parmolgy. Although they choose to serve/make thin Parma's, there reasoning for this is fair enough. Perfectly/evenly cooked. Seperate bowl of Chips and seperate bowl of salad. once again, an art. Victorian brewed beers only as well. Love this place.

Good selection of Parma's so bonus point for that, but it was a pretty standard parma, with chips & salad to share that were pretty standard as well. Wouldn't rave about it although it was completely booked out when we went.

Had the BBQ parma with BBQ sauce and onion rings topping. Parma was a good size and not too thin, cheese was a little burnt on top but I like it that way. Chips were in a separate bowl that me and the 2 other shared but there were plenty and I liked having them in a bowl so they didn't get soggy. All of us agreed they did a very good parma and I'd definitely go back to try a different topping and some more of the excellent range of Victorian beers.

For a venue with this name it falls far short of expectation. Parma was big but very thin, rather over cooked and although they've gone for the wow factor in seving up only the parma on a plate with the chips and salad in seperate bowls, my dining companion and I were only given one bowl of chips and one bowl of salad to share, where as other diners on adjoining tables each had their own chips and salad. At $23 one should have to share. One point deducted for the name not delivering on expectation. Keen to head back to see if they can prove me wrong.

With a name like Mrs Parma's you think that they'd be GREAT, but it was just ok. I went for the traditional one but after having the Bolognese (Better) Bruschetta (Better again), then the Mexican (Best) I think the rating might be a little low. The chicken was a little thin, I think it'd been flattened out to fill the plate :( and it was just a little dry. The chips and salad to share was different, but I guess it's a good thing so that food doesn't go to waste. Anyway, to sum it up I've had a lot better for a lot less....

After hearing all the ranting and raving I decided to go try out Mrs Parmas a couple nights ago. Was it a good parma? Yes. Was it incredible? I'm afraid not. The chicken was a pretty average schnitzel, thin and tough like the pre-made supermarket kind. The topping selection was good, as was the chips and salad, atmosphere etc. But this is far from Melbourne's greatest parma. Still worth a look though.
