Sadly the Queensberry parma has dropped in both size and quality lately. What used to be a university favourite has now become a disappointing experience that leaves me wanting more, both in terms of quantity and flavour.

I was tipsy. I just got off a late night flight to Melbourne. I was in need of a parma. And the great cheesy god in the sky delivered to me. From memory it was $15. It was coincidentally parma night. The menu was full of interesting choices and combinations but the classic parma gave me what I wanted, the perfect welcome to a Melbourne holiday.

Nice looking bird on arrival, sliced in and took my first bite and a slight air of disappointment ensued. Couldn't help but feel the chicken may have been of the processed variety though I can't quite be certain. The breast while large in size on face value was too thin for my liking. If not processed it had taken an unfortunate beating in the prepping process. Toppings also had that slight plasticky taste about them which never bodes well for a parma. The $10 price tag is outstanding value and the beers are cheap too, but wouldn't be rushing back if I was in search for quality.

Very nice Traditional Parma that was made from a choice of 5 different type . Not much more to report except that they lost a point for not having adequate airconditioning in this pub . The day was very hot and made dining uncomfortable

The Queensbury has become our regular Parma retreat and is yet to let us down. In the past 2 months i have visited this pub 3 times for the simple reason that their Parmas are genuinely good. While they may not be extravagant or overly exquisite, they are huge and complemented by a good portion of decent sides. It must be noted that these Parmas get a bonus point for their sheer size. Goodluck running a marathon after you do battle with this bastard . With cheap Parmas for students and a bubbly atmosphere, the Queensbury is highly recommended.

The parma was bland with no significant taste. The sauce topping was too abundant or not cooked sufficiently. Service was disgraceful also.

The phrase 'you get what you pay for' is so true when it comes to this $5 parmie.. Not bad, but not good either.. for 5 bucks though, you can't really go wrong if that's all you've got. No salad, and the chips where a bit on the pathetic side. The cheese was a bit burnt from melting off onto the oven tray and the parma itself looked like it was cut in half from one of their usual parmas.. Still, it does have some redeeming qualities.. The nap sauce was very nice and fresh, and reminded me of a tasty tomato concasse that I used to cook with at the old Keg & Swan restaurant on Albert Park lake once upon a time. I've also given the parma an extra point for the mere fact that it's only $5!! So all in all, not bad, not good, it's just a five dollar parma. Perfect for poor starving students and bums on the street who've acquired some dollar coins and need a change from half eaten, bacteria infested sandwiches.. http://www.eat4cheap.com.au

$12 specials on Wednesday and Thursday nights - traditional, aussie, mexican, and hawaiian variants are all fantastic. Parmas are well cooked and chips have just been changed from fries to a good, thick chip - SUPERB! Only downside that I can see is that salad might be a little too small. ...bonus point for new chips, different toppings, and also great friendly staff and good, clean environment!

$12 on Wednesdays/Thursdays is a reasonable price. Good range of toppings: Aussie, Mexican, Bolognese, Hawaiian. Chips could be improved with better cooking.
